PROHIBITED AND RESTRICTED GOODS A.B.S Courier


Thrives in its eld by o-ering its customers the fastest and most convenient transportation service. However, A.B.S Courier is subject to a variety of laws and regulations, as well as safety and security measures, which prohibit the transportation of some commodities. Prohibited commodities – NOT acceptable for transport without any exceptions, A.B.S Courier will refuse the shipment of any prohibited commodity, regardless of its value, its business potential, or the customer responsible for its order. The list of Prohibited Commodities is as follows:

  • Human Parts.
  • Perishable foods and beverages requiring refrigeration or other environmental control.
  • Live animals including insects.
  • Lottery tickets and gambling devices.
  • Pornographic, sex toys, or any items related to sex and/or obscene material.
  • Hazardous waste, including but not limited to hypodermic needles/syringes, or other medical waste.
  • Hazardous Material (Chemical, Explosives, Fuels, Fertilizers and Poisons “toxics”.
  • Processed or Unprocessed dead animals or parts (Furs, Skins, Tusks, etc.) including insects and pets.
  • Alcohol.
  • Political Material or any related contents.
  • Tobacco Advertisements.
  • Items o ensive to Muslims Culture.
  • Items o ensive to country’s rule and regulation, Politics, Habits or Traditions.
  • Packages that may cause damage to/or delay of Equipment, Personnel or Other packages.
  • Perfumes, Nail Polishes, Flammable Material & Pressurized Canes.
  • MONEY (coins, cash, currency paper money and negotiable instruments equivalent to cash. (e.g endorsed stocks, bonds and cash letters), COLLECTABLE COINS AND STAMPS.
  • Electronic Cigarettes, E-Juice, Nicotine Liquids and accessories.
  • Military Items/Clothes.
  • Lithium batteries.
  • Any material classed as Dangerous Goods. Restricted Commodities are items that require import permits or additional paperwork from the related government authority. Such items will face a clearance delay at the port of entry by SA Customers Authority. The required approval of restricted commodities is likely to require special operational and/or security procedures, including specie contractual wording or additional costs for the customer. A business case should clearly document a specie requirement for the shipment of a restricted commodity, along with the appropriate operational, security and contractual details. The list of Restricted Commodities is as follows:
    • Firearms, weaponry and their parts or equivalent like plastics dummy. (Require an Import Permit from the Ministry of Interior-Public Security)
    • Packages that require any special license or permit for transportation, importation or exportation.
    • Articles or products from animal or plants protected under CITES (Convention on International trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora). (Require an Import Permit the Saudi Fungal Life Commission).
    • Governments ID’s, Uniforms and Badges whether real or costume.
    • Medications (Vitamins, Food Supplements and/or Herbal Medicines). (Require an import Permit from Saudi Food & Drug Authority).
    • Veterinary medications. (Require an Import Permit from the Ministry of Agriculture).
    • Any type of Military Items (Night-Vision Goggles, Handcu s, Laser Sites, or Optical Scopes, etc.) (Require an Import Permit from the Ministry of Interior).
    • Communications Equipment, Smart Cards, Calling Cards or Radio Transmitters. (Require an Import Permit from the Saudi Communication and information Technology Commission).
